2) A "sleeve" that needs to be installed prior to installation of the Main unit (comes wiht the unit)
3) A specail tool that looks like a nail file and that is needed to "enlarge" the sleeve" once it is placed into position halfway down the filler neck.
DESCRIPTION OF THE MAIN UNIT
DIESEL Keeper ASD A Series 3 Anti-Siphon Device that fits on the diesel tank inlet of most Heavy Duty Class 8 International trucks where the tank inlet is at least 2.8" ID and at least 3.75" deep to allow for the fitting of the ASD.
The top grid has a honeycomb shape inside the fill neck, and the bottom grid has a similarly designed honeycomb shape with slightly smaller honeycombs. The top flange is about 5/8" wide and has eighteen trapezium openings grouped in three sections of six opening each around the circumference of the neck. These opening are to allow for air to escape as the tank is filled.
One of the openings on the top flange is desinged to allow for the insertion of a dipstick for purposes of a manual fuel level check, or for DOT fuel inspections.
At the bottom of the device there are ten flow slots on the outer and inner sleeve. The upper part of the second outer sleeve comes half way down the unit and has a total of four security arms that are manually pulled out to about 30° with a narrow screwdriver prior to installation.
The Device comes with a built in filler neck extension. The device is about 3.8" tall when in its normal postiion, 5.125" tall when the filler neck is at the half way resting position, and 6.375" when the filler neck extention is in the upper resting position.
The Device is designed to fit into the diesel tank with the top being just about flush with the diesel tanks steel lip that can be found underneath the diesel cap. One can continue to use the machines existing diesel cap. Any diesel screen below the diesel cap would need to be removed to allow for fitting and installation of the unit.
